Music Curriculum - Year 6

In Year 6, we use Garageband to create compositions based on our topic ‘Angels’.

When planning our compositions, we examine how choices about dynamics, tempo, timbre, pitch and structure can create mood and evoke different feelings in the listener. We evaluate our own work and that of our friends, considering the impact of their choices. We experience new and exciting styles of singing: this year we are going to be putting on a performance of Bizet’s opera ‘Carmen’. We also have further opportunities to become more familiar with the stave and use this when composing our own melodic phrases.
